KIC-lecture: Wouter from Glasnost
On the 7th of March at half past ten the KIC-ers were ready in the Auditorium. The second lecture by our KIC-er Olaf had made a great impression on us all, but it was time again for a new KIC-lecture.
Wouter Glazer had come all the way from Amsterdam to represent his company Glasnost and give us an educational lecture about the public relations and the media landscape. The KIC designers were on the edge of their seats to hear Wouter speak about these interesting terms.
Wouter caught the attention of the people by telling them where the name "Glasnost" came from. Glasnost is originally from Russia and is a vodka brand. “Huh? Alcohol?"
Glasnost is a creative PR agency. They create strategies, concepts and stories that generate publicity. Glasnost does many different assignments. A large part of the employees of Glasnost have a background in traditional PR and an extensive network of journalists. The company itself is very selective with their customers. Glasnost works together with many well-known companies. We all know Starbucks, Magnum, Twitter and Vodafone. Glasnost's approach is refreshing in that they achieve optimum results in both corporate and marketing-PR with the latest digital tools and smart strategies.
Wouter told us that we had to identify ourselves well. "What do you stand for?" and how do you build YOUR brand around it. All in all, the lecture was a great success and we left the Auditorium satisfied. Wouter, thanks for the lecture!
