New Year’s drink KIC x Scopus
It’s three in the morning. In the shimmering light of a street lantern is a guy on his bike, making his way to Vinkhuizen. On his face are faded smears of glitter, his breath reeks of beer and Sonnema Berenburg. Smiling from happiness, he’s on his way home. What events have preceded this moment? What is the reason for his frivolous venture home?
We were expected at 9 pm sharp. ‘t Golden Fust was thoroughly decorated, the evening was planned to be filled with shots and naturally one hell of a good time. After signing the presence form the essential consumption of some social lubricant could finally commence. The theme of the night? Shine bright in the New Year’s light! A magical idea as far as we were concerned. Strolling down the dancefloor in your most fabulous outfit. KIC and Scopus, who would have thought? A combination that raised many questions. Who are all these people? Do I even like them? Are they able to build a party like us? At the beginning of the evening, this division was clearly visible but after an adequate amount of cold ones and/or buckets of booze this slowly started to change. The KIC and Scopus members were seeking each other's attention to a steadily increasing extent to make their way into a joint mixture of drinks and dancing. This spicy blend made for a heated night, for everyone to look back upon with feelings of satisfaction.
Now back to our friend out in the cold. Making his way home, far away from his brothers and his buddies. The booze provided some necessary warmth, but the majestic memories of this night kept his heart warm.
